Sales Associate

Reports To: Sales Director

Sales Representatives are full-time, year-round, salaried employees who make commission on sales. Work schedules are variable, including working on Saturdays. The Rep’s job is to listen to and educate customers that are in the market for a pool, hot tub, or outdoor living product. Reps establish a relationship, set expectations, and design a purchase plan with customers based on customer budget and need. The sales work will be in store, on the showroom floor, as well as by phone and email to follow up with customers who come into the store. Additionally, handling any customers that contact Country Leisure by phone or through online means. Reps’ productivity is determined and measured by sales, communication, and attitude directives set by the Sales Director and approved by the Vice President.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities:

 ·         Greet all showroom customers and clock 35-40 hours per week

·         Answer all showroom-related (& other) phone calls. Be assertive and show initiative in generating new business leads and sales.

·         Document customer names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, stated product needs, and any other information related to a particular customer in the Evosus database.

·         Follow-up on all leads by phone, email, and direct mail as directed by Sales Director and consistent with our Sales Playbook.

·         Demonstrate to customers the features, usage, and maintenance associated with pools and/or hot tubs. To have consistent knowledge, on a year to year basis, of all products available from all retail partners and suppliers.

·         Complete contracts according to the specifics of a sale and collects payment from customer.

·         Work with & alongside Country Leisure staff to address any special circumstances surrounding a delivery, financing, or servicing of products.

·         Write thank you cards to new clients and tracking own dashboard related to closing ratios and customer outreach.

 ·         Communicate regularly with customers with outstanding orders or balances.

·         Making follow up calls to new customers to ensure satisfaction and gather essential performance and marketing feedback.

·         Regular attendance of courses, including online, offered by all retail partners. Maintain a familiarity with the retail partners.

·         Observe and adhere to all company pricing policies.

·         Ensure post sale customer education and satisfaction process is followed. Have knowledge of competing companies and all competitive products they represent.

·         Perform tasks related to maintaining appearance of showroom. Maintain a professional image on the sales floor as determined by Sales Director.

·         Be present and on time for all scheduled work in the showroom and outside events.

Education and/or Experience               

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus 3 years sales experience in business to business sales or retail environments.

Language Skills               

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills               

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability               

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
