Retail Associate

Reports To: RETAIL SUPERVISOR
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The primary functions of this position are customer assistance and customer retention.  Retail Associates are directly supervised by the Retail/Parts Shift Leads and Supervisor and perform a wide range of duties within the retail department.  A polite and accommodating personality combined with the ability to change pace frequently is necessary for success in this position.  Retail Associates are frequently in contact with customers and have a profound effect on repeat business.  It is important that employees create an environment that is comfortable and organized, as well as possess the ability to offer sound advice to customers.

 

Primary Functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

·         Completes orientation/ training program administered by the Retail/ Parts Supervisor Team

·         Stock Shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise

·         Make sure all products are properly tagged or marked

·         Occasionally arrange merchandise in advertising displays to promote sales

·         Notifies shift leads when any inventory is running low so that more may be ordered

·         Able to quickly locate and access basic parts, supplies and inventory

·         Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer

·         Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of parts or merchandise

·         Able to calculate and applicable dales discount to determine price

·         Accept payment and give change

·         Performs opening/closing duties based on department guidelines

·         Bags merchandise for customers

·         Cleans shelves, counters, cabinets, floors, and front face merchandise

·         Conduct water tests on samples provided by customers and provide detailed instruction for treatment

·         Continuously learn about all parts, equipment, and chemicals offered so that the most effective advice is given to customers

·         Up-sell merchandise as the opportunity presents itself

·         Answer phones and direct calls

Qualifications/ Skills

Computer Proficiency-Possesses basic computer skills with experience working in MS Office, especially MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; and Evosus. Flexible schedule and be able to work weekends. Must be able to lift and/or move 25lbs to 50lbs frequently.
